preseperation=She was born on earth, in a time of war and fighting. Her earliest memories are of her playing games with her brother. For them it was a carefree time. They where sheltered from the horrors of war that surrounded them daily.|
postseperation=On the day of separation she vowed to do everything in her power to make the new world a peaceful place to live. Now in her early teens, she had seen a few glimpses of the suffering caused by war, but had still been sheltered from the blunt of the truth. Using her strong enhancement magic and keen mind she designed a magical system to create a mask to enhance the power and abilities of the wearer. Until then magic was only used in its direct form by weaving different magical energies together or through magic enhanced runes placed on objects. The process that she invented served more as a prebuilt conduit that the user’s magic could flow through and would be amplified by the mask itself. The mask would draw its energy off of the wearer when not in combat and would store the magic until it was needed. With the help of these masks, she helped usher in an age of peace never seen before. Her brother did not share the beliefs of his family and saw the masks as a tool to rule the whole world. He modified the mask so that instead of relying on the stored magic of the wearer, it would feed off the power of a fairy that was stripped of its soul and placed in to the mask. Although the fairies did not have any real control once infused in to the mask, they would at times cause small malfunctions in the magic to hurt the wearer at key times. Once her brother created the first masks, her people where split between those who wanted peace and those who wanted to rule. Her race was created to be protectors of all, but many felt that the sacrifices that where made should be repaid. Try as she may, she was unable to defeat her brother with his new found strength. Her failure cost her parents their lives. She was able to flee to the fairy capital and lived there for about a year, while her people where subjugated and killed. Upon the suggestion of the fairy princess Shi, she reluctantly agreed to make a mask and bound both of their souls to it. The new mask was much stronger than the ones created by her brother, since there where two souls bound to it and neither was bound with hatred in their hearts. In order to get to her brother they had to fight through many of her people. They were determined to not only stop her brother but destroy anyone who had sided with him. They were able to make it to her brother, and his powers were no match for their combined strength. Although he had caused much death and suffering she could not bring herself to kill him, instead he was able to escape and take refuge on the third planet.|

She would always appear right before a major battle in hopes of finding the one who would bring an end to her suffering. Many stories are told throughout the ages of a woman in a cloak appearing before a major battle or a slaughter. It was later believed that if you saw her your death would not be far behind. Over the years she never made any effort to make friends or settle down, mainly due to the fact that due to the mask she ages at an extremely slow rate. While most people live one hundred to two hundred years, in the two thousand years since binding her soul to the mask she has only aged a few years. Also she believes that death follows her and that anyone who gets close to her will die a tragic death.|
present=Her days are like the rest, constant searching for the one spoken of in prophecy, until one day she stumbles upon a young man who is surrounded and about to be killed. The first thing that she notices about him is his scent, for some reason it reminds her of her childhood. He seems to be sick and has no chance of surviving the monsters that surround him. Although she is intrigued by what she senses in him, she decides to leave him to the fate that is obviously before him. When she is a ways away she sees a flash of light and hears screams in the distance. She is surprised when a few days later she sees the young man in a small town being sold as a slave. She figures that he must have been rescued at the last minute by the slave traders. Although slavery is frowned upon throughout most of the world small backwater towns like this one still use slaves. Most slaves are either criminals or prisoners of war and are controlled by a magical collar around their necks. She is still intrigued by the man and watches him from a distance. It is not long before she notices an army of the enemy preparing to ransack the village. She prepares for the inevitable fact that they are all about to die, but still cannot shake the fact that there is something different about the man. As the battle rages on she notices that the man has very little experience in fighting but is giving everything that he has in order to survive. But then as he is drawn in to a corner and is about to be killed, she feels something she has not felt in years. Confused, she decides reluctantly to save the man. Right as he passes out from the strain of fighting she attacks and quickly kills off the enemies that would have taken his life. Instead of rushing to his aid, she decides that something must be done about the army that for the most part is still outside the gates. She fights with all of the strength and is able to drive back the enemy. But the cost of such an effort leaves her severely injured, last minute she manages to flee. But due to her injuries she passes out on the road leading back to the town. She awakens in a small tent next to a silver haired fox girl. She realizes right away who she is. Confused, she tries to leave before death follows her to the one who saved her. But due to her injuries she is unable to leave. She wakes up a while later, noticing that she is being carried on the back of the man that she left in the village. This marks the beginning of her journey with the man that smells of her past, and the girl who she knows will one day rule all. |

It is rare to see a magic user that does not have some experience in all of the schools.

=Elemental=

These schools focus on manipulating things around the user.

==Earth==
This elemental based school focuses on manipulating objects around the user.

This can include rocks and dirt, as well as things that rely on the ground to live.

==Fire==
Everything burns at some point. This elemental school focuses on this fact.

This school tends to focus on destruction. That being said it is not limited, even fire can be used to stop someone from bleeding out.

==Water==
Every living thing needs water, as such water tends to have a wide range of control over living things.

Water can be used for healing just as easily as it can rip a hole in a mountain range.

==Air==
Simply put air is everywhere. Also due to its small size it can have a lot of different uses and effect many things.

This school can be used for simple things such as defense to more complex things such as flying.

Concept: To introduce two of the main characters in a way to show how they live before the story starts. Also to give the reader knowledge of the characters before they show up in the main story line.
Overview: There will be two main parts of the chapter. Part one will start off with a convoy traveling to the capital city. The second part will be in a small secluded town right before it is attacked.

==Part 1==
Concept: To give the readers a bias on one of the main characters. The goal is to make the audience hate / despise the character based on her actions. The reasoning behind this will show up later on as the readers learn of her true past and her intentions. The end state is to make the readers misjudge the character and later feel sorry for her (in part because they misjudged her).
Overview: The section will start off with several pages highlighting the convoy. The idea is to make the readers relate to the people on the convoy, in many ways I want them to think that the story is about them. After that I plan on introducing first character. Members of the convoy will notice her and instantly have a negative reaction based on the rumors of who she is. She pays little to no attention to their protests and continues to watch them from a distance. This part will end as the convoy is being raided the travelers killed or captured. She will be watching the whole time but taking little interest in helping save people. In the end she will just walk away from the scene.

==Part 2==

Concept: To introduce one of the other main characters and show her daily life. The goal is to have the audience relate to her. The beginning will start off with the daily life and in the end show a great loss that will shape her future and lay the ground work for the start of the story.
Overview: This section will start off with several pages highlighting life in a small rural town and the life of the second character. Basically I want to convey that although she lives a happy life it is not easy. Also I want to show that although she has lived a hard life she has been sheltered from the blunt of the war and compared to her true destiny has not really achieved anything. As the story goes on she will notice a new traveler in town. The traveler will not really pay much attention to most of the people around her, but will take some interest in her (although she will not show it too much). The traveler will be the same character as in the first section, so the audience will already have a negative reaction to this. The section will end as the city is raided and many people are killed. Of the people killed will be the second characters grandmother (only known living relative). While this is happening the first character will watch from a distance but will be mainly focusing on the second character. The chapter will end as the second character is trapped and facing certain doom, the last thing she sees is a flash behind her pursuers and screams of pain as she blacks out.

==Overview of the characters==
===Character 1 (Princess Shi)===
Although nobody knows her real name she is known to most people as the Princess of Suffering. The stigma about her is that when she shows up that shortly thereafter people will die. Some see her as the harbinger of suffering and others see her as the actual cause. Nobody decides to look deeper in to who she really is. The whole of her past is one of much suffering and death, much of which is caused by her. Although her motives are not clear one thing is, when she shows up people will die. She is seen wearing a full cloak that hides most of her body. Little is known about her powers other then the fact that many have tried to killer and have all ended up dead.
Additional knowledge of the character: Although this is not something that will be noticed for a long time in the story she is the main character of the second story arc. That being said she is well over 2000 years old but looks barely over 20. The reason for the lack of aging and how she turned out the way she did will be explained in the second arc. But basically she feels charged to watch events in history and seeks out the one who will not only end the war but may also hold the keys to her personal salvation. She strongly believes in not helping those that she sees, this is mainly because the last time that she tried to help caused the destruction of her entire race (partly by her own hands).
Side information: She is very strong, when compared to other people on the planet she is by far the strongest. Growing up she was the child prodigy that brought about magical masks to enhance the powers of her people. The powers where later corrupted by her brother and eventually lead to the demise of her people. Although she rarely uses magic she has a very strong affinity towards enhancement magic. Many see her as being unintelligent, but that is just a farce that she puts on to keep people away from her.

===Character 2 (The Lady)===
She is known as being the granddaughter of the town healer. Her whole life has been based on the knowledge of the fact that she will grow up to be the town healer. She knows nothing about her parents and is only told that they died around the time she was born. She has strong magical powers but only really knows how to use them to heal people. On her grandmothers deathbed she is told that her parents are alive and are in the capital city. That single event changes her whole outlook on life.
Additional knowledge of the character: Although this will not be stated for awhile in the main arc, she is the only child of the queen of the [[Kitsune]]'s (fox people). The [[Kitsune]]'s are the most powerful country on the planet and are seen as the rulers of all the other countries. She was sent away as a child after her father journeyed to speak with the [[Dragon King]] to try and find a way to end the war. The [[Dragon King]] told him that he would have to send his daughter away to keep her safe and pave the way for the one who would be able to end the war. The Dragon king then sacrificed his life to ensure that everything would go as planned.
Side information: Although she appears to be a Common Brown [[Kitsune]] she is really a [[Kyuubi]]. The magic of the [[Kyuubi]] is passed down from mother to daughter. The one with the power is the automatic heir to her people. The queen always has only one child, and it is always a girl. She has a very strong affinity towards all forms of magic, although growing up all she has learned is healing magic's. When forced in to a corner she is able to call upon some of her [[Kyuubi]] powers, but most of the time they are locked away.

There are actually 4 worlds in this story. The first world is now known as earth, it is the home of what is known as the ancients. Ancient humans had strong magical powers that where second only to the powers of the dragons themselves. Ancient man created the sub species to enhance their physical powers; this was achieved by weakening the overall magical powers of the species. The lust for power eventually created a power struggle that threatened to exterminate all life on earth. It was decided by the Ancients and Dragons that all magic must be removed from Earth. This would have meant the destruction of all the sub species and the Dragons, so instead a second Earth was created as a new home for those who wanted to keep their magic. Those who wanted to stay had their magic locked behind what is known as the [[ancestry gate]]. It is basically a lock that is placed on the source of all magic inside a person. This lock is passed down to their children there by ceasing all access to magic. The story of the struggles on the new world will be explained in the second arc. The second world is the one that was created for all of those who wanted to keep their magic. The third world was created for the Dragons who no longer wanted to be responsible for those who had magic. The fourth world was created after endless wars threatened to kill everyone on the second planet. But as time went on the wars started up again. The process that was used to create the subspecies drastically affected the magic powers of each species. The process seemed to favor females of each species there for making them stronger, both physically and magically, then their male counterparts. That being said it did not take long for females to take over most of the roles of powers on the second world. This later caused a struggle between who should be in charge of each society, and later caused the third world to be created.

As her grandmother laid dying she told her to seek out her parents in the capital city, she died before she could tell her anything else.|
present=She decides that the best thing that she can do is to journey to the capital city to find her parents. But since the trip is long and very dangerous she must find someone to travel with her (she has very little self defense abilities). During her search for someone to travel with a group of slavers come to the town to sell their wares. It is not uncommon for remote towns to use slaves, but in larger towns it is generally a shunned practice. Although she dislikes the idea of taking a slave, she is left with little choice. As soon as she sees the main character she knows that there is something different about him. In his present state he looks sickly (due to his body not being use to magic), that and his declaration of causing harm to anyone who tried to control him, made it so that nobody wanted to bid on him. At the last minute she decided to place a bid. After the auction she talks to him explaining her plight and that she would release him now even if he did not wish to help her. He decides to help her since going to the capital would most likely be the best place to find a way to reactivate the gate home. Thus starts their journey together to the capital city.|

She also carries a wooden mask with the Kanji for Shi written on it with blood, although she rarely wears the mask due to the pain she has caused while wearing it. While wearing the mask she gains incredible strength and magical abilities. Under her cloak she tends to wear tight fitting clothing that does not impair her ability to fight. Her clothing is generally fairly ragged due to the fact that she can’t just wander in to town and buy new clothing, but she does try and keep it fairly well repaired.|
weapon=She will normally fight with a small short sword, but does have a large sword that weighs about 200lbs. She usually does not fight with that weapon unless she is wearing her mask. She is able to wield the sword without the mask, but it slows her down a lot. When she wears her mask, she tends to forget that her sword is a two handed weapon. Her fighting style is based around making quick fast attacks; most enemies do not see her move to attack before they are already dead. |

Although she feels that she caused the destruction of her race, he is the one who actually is to blame. He took the masks that she created and twisted them with dark magic. By binding the soul of a fairy to the mask he doubled the power increase of the mask. With these new masks he overthrew his parents and attempted to take over the planet. His reign of terror was stopped when "Princess Shi" was born when she made a pact with the princess of the fairies and they both bound their souls to a spirit mask. preseperation=She was born on earth, in a time of war and fighting. Her earliest memories are of her playing games with her brother. For them it was a carefree time. They where sheltered from the horrors of war that surrounded them daily.|
postseperation=On the day of separation she vowed to do everything in her power to make the new world a peaceful place to live. Now in her early teens, she had seen a few glimpses of the suffering caused by war, but had still been sheltered from the blunt of the truth. Using her strong enhancement magic and keen mind she designed a magical system to create a mask to enhance the power and abilities of the wearer. Until then magic was only used in its direct form by weaving different magical energies together or through magic enhanced runes placed on objects. The process that she invented served more as a prebuilt conduit that the user’s magic could flow through and would be amplified by the mask itself. The mask would draw its energy off of the wearer when not in combat and would store the magic until it was needed. With the help of these masks, she helped usher in an age of peace never seen before. Her brother did not share the beliefs of his family and saw the masks as a tool to rule the whole world. He modified the mask so that instead of relying on the stored magic of the wearer, it would feed off the power of a fairy that was stripped of its soul and placed in to the mask. Although the fairies did not have any real control once infused in to the mask, they would at times cause small malfunctions in the magic to hurt the wearer at key times. Once her brother created the first masks, her people where split between those who wanted peace and those who wanted to rule. Her race was created to be protectors of all, but many felt that the sacrifices that where made should be repaid. Try as she may, she was unable to defeat her brother with his new found strength. Her failure cost her parents their lives. She was able to flee to the fairy capital and lived there for about a year, while her people where subjugated and killed. Upon the suggestion of the fairy princess Shi, she reluctantly agreed to make a mask and bound both of their souls to it. The new mask was much stronger than the ones created by her brother, since there where two souls bound to it and neither was bound with hatred in their hearts. In order to get to her brother they had to fight through many of her people. They were determined to not only stop her brother but destroy anyone who had sided with him. They were able to make it to her brother, and his powers were no match for their combined strength. Although he had caused much death and suffering she could not bring herself to kill him, instead he was able to escape and take refuge on the third planet.|

prepresent=She spends her time trying to find the one spoken of in prophecy, who would be 'the harbinger of a new age of peace'. She would always appear right before a major battle in hopes of finding the one who would bring an end to her suffering. She never intervenes in the battles in fear that her tampering would affect the prophecy and ruin her hopes of peace. Many stories are told throughout the ages of a woman in a cloak appearing before a major battle or a slaughter. It was later believed that if you saw her your death would not be far behind. Over the years she never made any effort to make friends or settle down, mainly due to the fact that due to the mask she ages at an extremely slow rate. While most people live one hundred to two hundred years, in the two thousand years since binding her soul to the mask she has only aged a few years. Also she believes that death follows her and that anyone who gets close to her will die a tragic death.|
present=Her days are like the rest, constant searching for the one spoken of in prophecy, until one day she stumbles upon a young man who is surrounded and about to be killed. The first thing that she notices about him is his scent, for some reason it reminds her of her childhood. He seems to be sick and has no chance of surviving the monsters that surround him. Although she is intrigued by what she senses in him, she decides to leave him to the fate that is obviously before him. When she is a ways away she sees a flash of light and hears screams in the distance. She is surprised when a few days later she sees the young man in a small town being sold as a slave. She figures that he must have been rescued at the last minute by the slave traders. Although slavery is frowned upon throughout most of the world small backwater towns like this one still use slaves. Most slaves are either criminals or prisoners of war and are controlled by a magical collar around their necks. She is still intrigued by the man and watches him from a distance. It is not long before she notices an army of the enemy preparing to ransack the village. She prepares for the inevitable fact that they are all about to die, but still cannot shake the fact that there is something different about the man. As the battle rages on she notices that the man has very little experience in fighting but is giving everything that he has in order to survive. But then as he is drawn in to a corner and is about to be killed, she feels something she has not felt in years. Confused, she decides reluctantly to save the man. Right as he passes out from the strain of fighting she attacks and quickly kills off the enemies that would have taken his life. Instead of rushing to his aid, she decides that something must be done about the army that for the most part is still outside the gates. She fights with all of the strength and is able to drive back the enemy. But the cost of such an effort leaves her severely injured, last minute she manages to flee. But due to her injuries she passes out on the road leading back to the town. She awakens in a small tent next to a silver haired fox girl. She realizes right away who she is. Confused, she tries to leave before death follows her to the one who saved her. But due to her injuries she is unable to leave. She wakes up a while later, noticing that she is being carried on the back of the man that she left in the village. This marks the beginning of her journey with the man that smells of her past, and the girl who she knows will one day rule all. |
