It is rare to s...&quot;</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>There are several different major schools of magic that show up in the storyline.<br /> Most races will have an affinity to a single school but are not limited to that.<br /> It is rare to see a magic user that does not have some experience in all of the schools.<br /> <br /> =Elemental=<br /> <br /> These schools focus on manipulating things around the user.<br /> <br /> ==Earth==<br /> This elemental based school focuses on manipulating objects around the user. <br /> <br /> This can include rocks and dirt, as well as things that rely on the ground to live.<br /> <br /> ==Fire==<br /> Everything burns at some point. This elemental school focuses on this fact. <br /> <br /> This school tends to focus on destruction. That being said it is not limited, even fire can be used to stop someone from bleeding out.<br /> <br /> ==Water==<br /> Every living thing needs water, as such water tends to have a wide range of control over living things.<br /> <br /> Water can be used for healing just as easily as it can rip a hole in a mountain range.<br /> <br /> ==Air==<br /> Simply put air is everywhere. Also due to its small size it can have a lot of different uses and effect many things.<br /> <br /> This school can be used for simple things such as defense to more complex things such as flying. <br /> <br /> =Base=<br /> These schools effect all living things.<br /> <br /> Generally though of as light and dark, that is really a misnomer.<br /> <br /> There is no good or bad between these two schools per say, just how they are used.<br /> <br /> Life is part of Death and Death is part of Life.<br /> <br /> ==Life==<br /> This school focuses on the active part of living.<br /> <br /> Generally this is seen as healing magics, but can just as easily cripple or maim.<br /> <br /> ==Death==<br /> This school focuses on the cessation of life.<br /> <br /> Generally focused around ending life, but where one life ends another may begin.<br /> <br /> =Misc=<br /> ==Neutral==<br /> This school does not focus on any element or base effects. It is magic pure and simple.<br /> <br /> Often times called energy or lightening due to its lack of other elemental effects.<br /> <br /> This school is the one exception to the others, the use of this school has been lost for many years.<br /> <br /> This is mainly due to the fact that most modern magic is based on forms and requires elemental affinity.<br /> <br /> Neutral (pure) magic relies on only thought and will.</div>
