Spell:Schools

There are several different major schools of magic that show up in the storyline. Most races will have an affinity to a single school but are not limited to that. It is rare to see a magic user that does not have some experience in all of the schools.

Elemental

These schools focus on manipulating things around the user.

Earth

This elemental based school focuses on manipulating objects around the user.

This can include rocks and dirt, as well as things that rely on the ground to live.

Fire

Everything burns at some point. This elemental school focuses on this fact.

This school tends to focus on destruction. That being said it is not limited, even fire can be used to stop someone from bleeding out.

Water

Every living thing needs water, as such water tends to have a wide range of control over living things.

Water can be used for healing just as easily as it can rip a hole in a mountain range.

Air

Simply put air is everywhere. Also due to its small size it can have a lot of different uses and effect many things.

This school can be used for simple things such as defense to more complex things such as flying.

Base

These schools effect all living things.

Generally though of as light and dark, that is really a misnomer.

There is no good or bad between these two schools per say, just how they are used.

Life is part of Death and Death is part of Life.

Life

This school focuses on the active part of living.

Generally this is seen as healing magics, but can just as easily cripple or maim.

Death

This school focuses on the cessation of life.

Generally focused around ending life, but where one life ends another may begin.

Misc

Neutral

This school does not focus on any element or base effects. It is magic pure and simple.

Often times called energy or lightening due to its lack of other elemental effects.

This school is the one exception to the others, the use of this school has been lost for many years.

This is mainly due to the fact that most modern magic is based on forms and requires elemental affinity.

Neutral (pure) magic relies on only thought and will.
